Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev does not plan to pass an anti-gay propaganda on a federal level. He said, “Not every moral issue behaviour or habit or communication issue between people should be regulated.” He also responded to a question on banning homosexuality saying, “This is why not all relationships between people are subject to a legal interpretation.”

One of Russia’s most popular gay activists, Dmitry Medvedev, welcomed the prime minister’s statement.
Lady Gaga, who just arrived in Saint Petersburg, where the anti-gay law tweeted Medvedev saying, “Thank you Prime Minister Medvedev for not standing by your party’s anti-gay propaganda law & instead supporting my show + fans all over Russia.” She also tweeted, “Prime Minister Medvedev please accept my gratitude I am looking forward to performing in Russia & celebrating our cultures coming together.”
Lady Gaga performs in Saint Petersburg tonight and in Moscow on 12 December.
