A 19-year-old Australian youth of Greek origin (Alex Dimitriades) struggles with his sexuality and identity. This Australian movie is about his tough and sometimes violent journey. Many of us have already seen this 1998 production, but for those who haven’t, it’s worth watching.
British film My Brother The Devil will be showing at the Ljubljana Gay and Lesbian Film Festival in Ljubljana, Slovenia from 24/11/2012 to 02/12/2012. Their website claims that this is one of the oldest film festivals in Europe, which began in 1984.
My Brother The Devil is a story about two London teens of Egyptian origin, who have adopted the street style of Hackney. The handsome older brother Rashid (James Floyd) is a drug dealer and his younger, and just as good-looking, brother Mo (Fady Elsayed) looks up to him and emulates his street style. Though homosexuality is not the central theme in this movie, Rashid has a homosexual relationship.
