Celebrate Bisexual Day, which began in 1999, is a worldwide event which addresses issues bisexual people face and also raises the awareness about bisexuality and to celebrate the diversity of and differences within the LGBTI communities. The existence of bisexuality, the romantic or sexual attraction to both the same and opposite sex, is often misunderstood and denied. Bisexuals are probably the least known group in the LGBT community.
The triangles, moons and flag are all symbols of the bisexual community. Some people prefer not to use the triangles because of their association with the Nazis. Blue stands for heterosexuality. Pink stands for bisexuality. The purple in the middle stands for bisexuality.
